Northeast Technical Assistance Center

Welcome to Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW)’s Northeast Technical Assistance Center.

The goals of the Center are:

        To support the development of connections between the Center and pre-apprenticeship programs in the northeast to prepare women for Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs);

        To host orientations on creating a successful apprenticeship environments for women; and

        To remove barriers to women entering the trades by helping with access to child care, transportation, support groups and other assistance.

NEW’s Northeast Technical Assistance Center is supported by a Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.

NEW’s fellow WANTO grantees are Chicago Women in Trades for the Midwest Technical Assistance Center, and Oregon Tradeswomen for the Northwest Technical Assistance Center.
